Keep your WhatsApp conversations private! Learn how to hide WhatsApp chats on Android using the archive feature, third-party apps, or other privacy settings.
WhatsApp is among the most famous messaging apps used by billions of users across the globe. However, sometimes there are conversations that you would rather not delete but would also want to keep private. And while such features as the archive exist, there are ways to hide conversations in more acceptable ways. In this article, we will explain how to hide your conversations in WhatsApp without using the conventional archive option.
Here’s a guide on how to hide chats in WhatsApp step by step
- Launch WhatsApp on your Android phone
- Always choose the chat or several chats that are to be hidden
- Click the three dots at the top right of your screen
- Here, click it and select Lock Chat
- A prompt appears on your screen saying, “conserve this chat, concealed and locked”
- Finally, click Continue to lock the chats you’ve selected
That way, you will be able to lock chats that can only be accessed by your phone’s biometrics – fingerprint or facial recognition features. It is, however, important to mention that when chats are locked, both contact and the notification content are masked. Such a notification will be, for instance, WhatsApp: 1 new message.
If you intend to share these conversations with the public, proceed to the Locked Chats folder. Click on the conversation you would like to unblock. First, click on the three-dot icon and then click on the ‘Unblock chat’ option.
