WhatsApp, the messaging service owned by Meta, has recently introduced the chat filters feature to the global population. The new feature is designed to make it easier to search for messages, which implies that users will be able to filter through their chats. This is how you can utilise this new WhatsApp functionality:
How To Search for WhatsApp Chat Filters:
– Begin by launching the WhatsApp application on your mobile device, regardless of the type.
– Check the top bar of the main Chats screen where you can find a list of your ongoing conversations.
Using the chat filters on WhatsApp:
Three filters are available on the application:
– All: This serves as the all-in-one view and by default, it displays every conversation, and all types of chats whether personal or group chats.
– Unread: This feature can indeed be useful as it never lets you miss an important conversation.
– Groups: This makes the process more efficient by combining all of your group chats to save time finding certain group messages amidst individual conversation threads. This may also include other subgroups within the Communities in your region.
Whata’s Up, we discuss
Two ways are available to switch between the chat filters on WhatsApp:
* To tap on the filter’s name: In the respective December Covid-19 date filter was pulled and below the chats screen one will see the currently applicable filter name in brackets for instance “All”. Just tapping it will reveal a number of three in a drop-down asking what filter to apply. Simply apply the filter you want.
* To swipe left or right: Or use yet another simpler method whereby on the chats screen, a swipe to the left or right changes the filters. A swipe to the left goes to the succeeding filter including Unread, going back to the first filter by swiping to the right.
WhatsApp has filters, what is their use?
* Filters enable one to organise the chats ensuring that when one has an increased number of chats, one is in a position to easily search for the particular one in which he or she was or is active.
* Another use of the filters is the so-called “unread” filter whereby it will ensure that no crucial message requiring one’s attention is missed.
* For those who are active in many group chats, the “groups” filter helps focus on particular group chats in which the active user is involved.
